It’s time to SELL, SELL, SELL!
This is a really difficult article to write. I’ve been a shareholder of AMD on and off for the past three years. I made my latest purchase of shares nearly six months ago. I’ve had to wait, then wait, and then wait some more for this company to finally shine. Its recent earnings report showed the company’s revenues accelerating across most business segments, especially its graphics and enterprise segments. That catapulted the stock higher to a fresh 52-week high. Yippee!
This all sounds great, right? So why am I recommending that anyone sell their shares of AMD? It’s simple. If you took a position in AMD between October 2017 and May 2018 you’re likely sitting on a 30 to 95 percent return. It’s time to take some profits off the table. Sure, AMD could continue to surge higher, but most semiconductor companies are beginning to sell off amidst growing competition. Nvidia, Broadcom, Intel, etc are all scratching and clawing to gain a foothold in this hyper-competitive space. There’s no clear winner, not to mention a growing threat from Google and Microsoft to produce their own chips.
We’ll always tell you to take profits when you can. Don’t hesitate to take some money off the table and keep an eye out for more buying opportunities. MightyTrades has a hot new recommendation coming out tomorrow!
